PearAI is an open-source AI code editor that bundles a curated stack of best-in-class AI coding tools — chat, agent, search, memory and autocomplete — into one VS Code-based environment.
Rather than building every AI feature from scratch, PearAI assembles proven open components into a single editor: conversational chat powered by Continue, an autonomous coding agent built on Roo Code, web-grounded AI search via Perplexity, a persistent memory layer from Mem0, and fast autocomplete from Supermaven. A component called the PearAI Router selects the best available model for each request, so a single subscription gives you access to leading models from Anthropic, OpenAI and others without juggling separate API accounts.
The workflow targets makers and indie developers who previously copy-pasted code between their editor and a chatbot. Inside PearAI, the assistant understands your open files and codebase context, the agent can implement multi-step changes and fix bugs, and the memory layer personalizes suggestions over time.
