Augment Code is an enterprise AI coding platform whose Context Engine understands massive multi-repo codebases, powering IDE assistance, remote agents and its Cosmos platform for orchestrating software-delivery agent loops (β 4.0 on G2).
Augment Code differentiates itself on context. Its Context Engine indexes up to 500,000 files across dozens of repositories β code, commit history, documentation and external sources β so completions, chat answers and agent work reflect how your system is actually built rather than just the file on screen. Developers use it through extensions for VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and Vim, a CLI, and remote agents that can execute larger tasks autonomously.
The newer Cosmos platform extends that foundation into an always-on software factory. Teams assemble loops in natural language: every pull request gets a substantive first-pass review within minutes, a ticket assignment triggers investigation and an end-to-end change, vulnerability alerts are mapped to their blast radius and returned as reviewable patches, and incident response begins with the investigation already done. Agents hand off to each other and escalate to humans only at quality gates, running on your laptop, in dev VMs, in Augment’s cloud or inside your own AWS or GCP environment.
Augment now charges flat team pricing instead of per-seat credit tiers. Standard is $20/month flat for a whole team of up to 50 seats, including $20 of monthly usage across LLMs, the Context Engine and compute; Business is $100/month flat with $100 of usage included. Usage is pooled across the team and extra usage is topped up pay-as-you-go. Enterprise plans are custom, with SSO, CMEK and ISO 42001 compliance.
Professional teams working across large, complex codebases where context quality decides whether AI output is useful. Solo developers on a small project will usually find lighter, cheaper assistants sufficient.
