World Monitor is an open-source, real-time global intelligence dashboard that streams hundreds of news and OSINT feeds onto a single live world map. The project has earned more than 88,000 stars on GitHub and is updated continuously, with its latest changes in 2026. Its premise is that geopolitics, shipping, markets and infrastructure move together โ and that seeing them on one screen surfaces events before they become headlines.
The dashboard fuses 469 news and OSINT feeds from 773 attributed providers across 58 map layer types: conflicts, military flights, maritime chokepoints, subsea cables, pipelines, earthquakes, fires, cyber threats and live markets. AI scoring turns that flood into instability indices for dozens of hotspots, country briefs and corroborated breaking alerts. Everything is cited inline, the code is open under the AGPL-3.0 license, and an MCP server exposes 95 live tools so AI agents can query the same data. Specialized lenses reframe the live picture for markets, commodities and AI infrastructure, so a tariff headline, a disrupted strait and a chip stock can be read as one connected story.
World Monitor is freemium. The live dashboard is completely free with no signup, and the open-source code can be self-hosted. A Pro subscription (from $39.99/month) adds the WM Analyst chat, scenario engine, personal AI digests, the Resilience layer and MCP/API access.
World Monitor is for analysts, journalists, traders, researchers and the simply curious โ anyone who wants a Palantir-style situational picture of the world, built from public data, without an enterprise contract.
