Spider is a web crawling and scraping API built for AI agents and RAG pipelines. One API key unlocks three things — a scraping API, a real browser engine, and a proxy network — so developers can fetch a single page, crawl an entire site, or search the web, and get back clean Markdown or structured JSON that a language model can use directly.
Unlike scrapers that return raw server HTML, Spider renders pages the way a person sees them: scripts run, lazy images load, and infinite scroll reaches the end, with navigation, ads, and footers stripped away. It runs on the company’s own browser engine and its own network of 215M+ residential and ISP exits across 199 countries, rotated per request, which helps protected pages load with a normal 200 response. Crawls stream back in order as JSONL, page by page, so pipelines can start processing immediately instead of waiting for the last URL. The company positions itself as a research lab for web data quality and publishes open-methodology benchmarks of browser fidelity and speed.
Spider is Freemium to start — you can run requests before you buy. After that it is simple pay-as-you-go usage pricing: $1 per GB of bandwidth plus $0.0001 per CPU minute, with blocked, timed-out, and failed requests billed at $0. Concurrency-based plans are also available.
Spider is for developers building RAG systems, AI agents, and data pipelines who need fast, faithful, LLM-ready web data without assembling separate scraper, browser, and proxy vendors.
