ShortlyAI

ShortlyAI is a minimalist AI writing tool for long-form fiction and essays, driven by simple slash commands like /instruct, /expand, and /rewrite.

Overview

ShortlyAI strips the writing experience down to a blank page and a few slash commands. When you get stuck, /expand continues the passage in the current style, /rewrite improves the highlighted section, and /instruct directs what happens next in plain language. The clean interface has no dashboards or template grids, which makes it a favorite among novelists and essayists who want an unobtrusive collaborator rather than a content platform. The tool works well for drafting long sessions where momentum matters most. The command system is quick to learn: a handful of slash instructions cover almost every drafting situation, and results respect the existing narrative voice. Because the interface never changes, writers build muscle memory and stay in flow. The unlimited word model suits long daily writing sessions without usage anxiety.
