OpenBot is a local-first desktop workspace for persistent AI teammates, with around 1,350 stars on GitHub. It is a development preview that gives every coding agent its own workspace and conversation, so Codex, Claude, Grok, and other agents can keep working in parallel instead of sharing one chat window.
OpenBot wraps several agent CLIs in a single desktop app. It supports the local Codex App Server and Claude Code, plus Grok CLI, OpenCode, Gemini, Cursor CLI, and Cline CLI through the Agent Client Protocol. Each agent gets an independent session, a local workspace, and its own model, reasoning, and notification settings. Work survives restarts: message queues persist safely, long threads compact automatically before they exhaust the model window, and an optional server mode lets you reach your agents from the desktop app, an iPhone app, or the web.
OpenBot is free to download and use for noncommercial purposes under the PolyForm Noncommercial license.
OpenBot is for developers and small teams who run several coding agents at once and want one durable, local workspace for all of them instead of a dozen scattered terminal sessions.
