OmniRoute is a free, MIT-licensed AI gateway with 79,000+ stars on GitHub that gives coding agents one endpoint for 375 providers and more than 1,400 models — including 150+ free providers.
OmniRoute’s pitch is simple: never stop coding because a provider quota ran out. It sits in front of Kimi, Claude, GPT, Gemini, GLM, DeepSeek, MiniMax and hundreds of other providers as a single OpenAI-compatible endpoint, and routes requests with quota awareness — when one provider is exhausted or failing, it falls back to the next automatically. It works with the tools developers already use, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Cline and Copilot, and it layers on token-saving compression (RTK and Caveman modes claim 15–95% savings), MCP and A2A protocol support, and desktop and PWA apps. Built by a community of 900+ contributors, the project is MIT licensed and updated constantly, with repository activity in October 2026.
OmniRoute is completely free and open source under the MIT license. You bring your own provider accounts and keys; the gateway itself charges nothing.
Developers and agent power users who juggle many model providers and free tiers, and want resilient, self-healing routing instead of manually switching endpoints mid-session.
