Nodeterm is an open-source, node-based terminal manager for AI coding agents with 2,000+ stars on GitHub, turning tmux-backed terminals and parallel agent sessions into draggable nodes on an infinite pan-and-zoom canvas.
Running several coding agents at once — Claude Code here, Codex there, Gemini in a third tab — quickly becomes a window-management problem. Nodeterm makes it spatial. Every terminal, agent, editor and diff is a node on a canvas you can arrange, group and zoom; live badges show which agent is running and which one needs your input, and subagents appear as their own nodes as they spawn. Edges between nodes are functional, not decorative: linked agents can read each other’s context, and a conversation can branch into a fresh node without losing the original thread. Sessions are backed by tmux, so closing the app or rebooting the machine restores every terminal and running agent exactly where it was. The app runs on macOS and Linux, with a browser-based Server Edition for remote access. It is under intense active development, with updates landing in October 2026.
Nodeterm is free and open source — download it from GitHub or nodeterm.dev and run it on your own machine. The agents you drive with it keep their own pricing; the canvas itself costs nothing.
Developers who routinely run multiple AI coding agents in parallel and are tired of juggling tabs and tmux windows — Nodeterm gives that swarm a single, spatial, always-restorable workspace.
