Hyperframes is HeyGen’s open-source framework for turning HTML, CSS and animations into deterministic MP4 videos — write HTML, render video, built for agents — with more than 68,000 stars on GitHub.
Hyperframes treats a video as a web page with a timeline. You compose scenes in HTML and CSS, wire up seekable animations (GSAP and other runtimes are supported), add media, and the renderer produces a frame-accurate MP4 every time. That determinism makes it a natural fit for programmatic and agent-driven video: an AI coding agent can plan a video, write the markup, lint it, preview it and render it without a human touching a timeline editor.
The project ships as a CLI (init, preview, render) plus a library of 21 installable skills that teach agents complete production workflows. It also introduces frame.md, a translation layer that converts a brand’s web design system into video-ready composition rules, and offers hosted options through a browser Studio and cloud or AWS Lambda rendering.
Hyperframes is free and open source under the Apache-2.0 license; local rendering with the CLI costs nothing (Node.js 22+ and FFmpeg required). Optional hosted Studio and cloud rendering are offered by HeyGen for teams that want managed infrastructure.
Developers, marketing engineers and agent builders who want to generate product videos, explainers, social clips and data visualizations from code and prompts rather than a traditional video editor.
