Google Agents CLI is Google’s official command-line tool and skill set for building AI agents on Google Cloud. It turns a general-purpose coding assistant into a specialist that knows how to create, evaluate and deploy agents with the Agent Development Kit (ADK) and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. The project has about 6,100 stars on GitHub, is Apache 2.0 licensed, and was actively developed in 2026.
Rather than learning every Google Cloud service and CLI yourself, you install agents-cli (published on PyPI as google-agents-cli) and let your coding assistant drive it. It works with Antigravity, Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents: the bundled skills teach the assistant Google’s agent patterns, while the commands scaffold new agent projects, run evaluations against test cases, and deploy finished agents to Google Cloud runtimes. The goal is enterprise-grade agents — built, scaled, governed and optimized — without hand-writing the boilerplate.
The tool is part of Google’s broader Agent Development Kit push: ADK provides the runtime and framework for agents, while agents-cli provides the developer experience around it — project templates, repeatable evaluation runs and one-command deployment paths. Because the skills are plain files that coding assistants load as context, teams can also extend them with their own conventions, effectively teaching the assistant how their organization builds agents on Google Cloud.
Free. The CLI is open source under the Apache 2.0 license; any Google Cloud resources your agents use are billed separately by Google Cloud.
Developers building agents on Google Cloud who want their coding assistant to handle ADK scaffolding, evaluation and deployment instead of memorizing the platform themselves.
