Deforum Stable Diffusion Local is the local version of the Deforum animation toolkit, which turns Stable Diffusion into a tool for creating morphing, camera-moving AI animations. Where the popular Deforum experience began in a cloud notebook, this release — version 0.7 — is packaged to run on your own machine, with support for driving renders from a plain text settings file. It is hosted on GitHub, where it has earned roughly 705 stars.
Deforum is the extension that made Stable Diffusion famous for video: it interpolates prompts and camera parameters across frames, steering zoom, pan and 3D rotation to produce the endlessly-zooming, dream-transforming clips that defined early AI art. The local version keeps that feature set — including 2D and 3D animation modes, keyframe schedules and prompt interpolation — while removing the dependence on a hosted notebook runtime. Animation parameters can be stored in a text settings file, which makes renders reproducible and easy to share: send someone your settings file and they can recreate the same animation locally. It builds on the original Stable Diffusion work by CompVis and the Deforum community.
Deforum Stable Diffusion Local is free and open source under the MIT license. You only need your own GPU and the openly available Stable Diffusion checkpoints.
This local Deforum release is for AI artists and video creators who want Deforum’s signature animated, morphing visuals rendered on their own machines with reproducible settings files.
