CodeFuse is Ant Group’s open-source code large model family and AI programming assistant for Chinese development teams.
CodeFuse is developed by Ant Group (蚂蚁集团) and released as open-source code models covering completion, generation and multi-language support. It powers AI-assisted programming features including code completion, comment generation, unit test generation and a “diagram-to-code” capability that turns UI designs into front-end code. The models are trained with a focus on Chinese developer scenarios and enterprise codebases, and are available on ModelScope and Hugging Face for self-hosting. Ant Group uses them internally across its engineering organization.
CodeFuse models are free and open source; enterprise support and deployment services are arranged with Ant Group.
Chinese enterprises and developers who want open, self-hostable code AI aligned with domestic engineering environments.
Enterprises self-host code models to keep proprietary code inside the network while giving developers AI assistance. Teams generate unit tests for legacy modules where coverage is thin. Front-end developers turn UI mockups into starter code with diagram-to-code. Researchers study open code models for domestic deployment scenarios.
Download the open weights from ModelScope or Hugging Face and benchmark them on your own repositories before committing. Start with test generation and comment generation — high value, low risk. Wire inference into your IDE through the provided plugins and measure acceptance rates over a sprint.
Fine-tune on your internal code style if adoption is blocked by inconsistent output. Keep humans in review for generated tests; plausible-looking assertions can silently test nothing.
Yes — the models and tools are open source and free to deploy.
Self-hosted deployments can expose model inference APIs; hosted access is via partner platforms.
Versus commercial coding assistants, CodeFuse offers openness and self-hosting; versus other open models it benefits from Ant Group’s enterprise-scale training data.
Yes — the models are released under open-source licenses permitting commercial use, though you should verify the specific license terms for the weights you deploy. Enterprises commonly self-host for internal tooling and keep human review on generated output. For regulated industries, self-hosting avoids sending proprietary code to external services entirely.
