Superpowers is an open-source software development methodology for coding agents, with more than 305,000 stars on GitHub, one of the most starred agent frameworks around. It is a set of composable skills plus starter instructions that teach a coding agent to slow down, understand what you actually want, and follow a disciplined workflow instead of jumping straight into writing code.
Superpowers changes how a coding agent behaves from the first message. It does not immediately produce code. Instead, it draws out your real goal through questions, plays its understanding back to you for correction, and turns the agreed design into a written document. From that design it builds a plan of bite-sized tasks, each with exact file paths, complete code, and verification steps. The agent then works through the plan with subagents, reviews its own work, and finishes the branch cleanly. The skills trigger automatically: once installed, your coding agent simply has Superpowers. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, and many other harnesses.
Superpowers is free and open source. Optional commercial services, such as enterprise support, are offered separately.
Superpowers is for developers who use AI coding agents on real projects and want structured, reviewable output instead of fast but careless code. If your agent misunderstands goals, skips tests, or drifts mid-task, this gives it the discipline to stay on plan.
