EasyEDA Agent is an open-source automation layer that gives AI coding agents hands inside EasyEDA Pro, the widely used PCB design suite from JLC. Instead of clicking through menus, an agent can place components, draw schematics and edit board layouts through a typed set of design actions. The project has around 760 stars on GitHub and was still actively developed in October 2026.
Built in Go, EasyEDA Agent connects large language model harnesses to the EasyEDA Pro editor (also known as JLC EDA). It exposes the editor’s schematic and PCB operations as structured, typed actions, so an AI assistant can carry out real electronics design work rather than just talk about it. The same action set is packaged in three forms at once: a command line interface for scripted use, an Agent Skill that plugs into harnesses such as Claude Code, and a stdio MCP server for any Model Context Protocol client. A connector listing is published on the JLC extension marketplace, which is the linked page for this entry.
EasyEDA Agent is free and open source. You can install the connector from the JLC extension marketplace and use it with your own EasyEDA Pro workspace and your own AI model access at no cost for the tool itself.
It suits hardware engineers and electronics hobbyists who already design boards in EasyEDA Pro and want an AI assistant to handle repetitive schematic and layout work. Developers building agent tooling for EDA workflows will also find its typed action design a useful reference.
