Agent Teams AI is an open-source desktop app that lets you run a team of AI coding agents like a company: you hand out tasks on a kanban board, the agents message each other, do the work, and review each other’s changes. The GitHub project has around 2,300 stars and is under very active development in 2026. Note that it is a different product from Alibaba Cloud’s AgentTeams, which is also listed on Tooloso.
Instead of babysitting one coding assistant, Agent Teams AI orchestrates several at once. It connects the runtimes and subscriptions you already have — Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, and many model providers — or starts with free models that need no authentication. You supervise at a high level: assign tasks, watch progress, and approve or reject the diffs each agent produces.
The “build your AI company” idea is literal: you can organize agents into multiple teams with different roles, give each team its own queue of tasks, and let team members hand work to one another. The app emphasizes supervision over blind automation — you see status, spend, and diffs in one place, and nothing merges until you approve it, which suits developers who like what coding agents produce but not the chaos of running five terminals at once.
The app is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0 license, with no cloud backend. You only pay for any external AI provider subscriptions or API usage you connect to it.
Developers and small teams who want to run several AI coding agents in parallel and manage them through one supervisory interface.
