Wigolo is a local-first web intelligence server that gives AI agents the whole web — search, fetch, crawl, extraction, caching and deep research — through a single MCP server, REST API or SDK. Everything heavy runs on your own machine: there are no API keys, no cloud round-trips and no metered bill, at $0 per query. The open-source project is in public beta, has more than 5,400 stars on GitHub and was actively developed through 2026.
Most web tools for agents are metered cloud APIs, so every search and fetch adds cost and sends your queries to a third party. Wigolo inverts that model: a local process fans a query out across 18 search-engine adapters in parallel, merges the results with rank fusion and settles the order with an on-device ML reranker, returning verbatim excerpts pinned to byte-offset source spans with citation IDs and an explainable score breakdown. Fetching escalates intelligently — plain HTTP first, then TLS impersonation past bot walls, then a headless browser for JavaScript-heavy pages — and everything fetched lands in a local index combining keyword search with on-device vectors, so repeat questions answer instantly, even offline. It wires into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other MCP clients with one command, and framework integrations cover LangChain, CrewAI, LlamaIndex and the Vercel AI SDK.
Free. Wigolo is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license and free to use, modify and self-host, including inside a company; a commercial license is available only for organisations that need different license terms.
Developers and agent builders who want web search and research capabilities inside their coding agents or frameworks without API keys, usage metering or sending query data to a third-party cloud.
