IntentKit is an open-source framework for building and running teams of AI agents as a self-hosted cloud service. Developed by Crestal Network, the project has earned about 6,500 stars on GitHub and was still actively updated in 2026.
Instead of a single chatbot, IntentKit runs a collaborative cluster of agents that you host yourself. Each agent can hold intents and goals, pick up reusable skills, and coordinate with the rest of the team, while optional Web3 and blockchain integrations let agents act on-chain as well as on the web. It deploys with Docker for a full self-hosted setup, and the same codebase can also be embedded as a Python library or called through an API, so it fits both quick experiments and longer-running agent deployments. Social platform integrations connect your agents to the channels where your users already are. The project is written in Python and designed so agents can be composed like building blocks: define an agent’s personality and goals, attach skills, and let the cluster coordinate the rest. Because it is self-hosted, teams keep full control over their data, their API keys, and where agents are allowed to act.
IntentKit is completely free and open source under the MIT license. You only pay for your own hosting infrastructure and the model API usage your agents consume.
Developers and Web3 teams who want a fleet of cooperating agents under their own control, rather than a hosted black box, will find IntentKit a practical starting point.
