Presenton is an open-source AI presentation generator and API that turns prompts, documents, and data into fully editable PowerPoint and PDF decks. Positioned as an open alternative to Gamma, Canva, and Beautiful.ai, it learns your layouts, typography, and visual language so generated slides look like your own work rather than a stock template.
You can run Presenton three ways: as a managed cloud app, self-hosted on your own infrastructure with Docker or a desktop app, or embedded into your product through its developer API. Every generated deck opens in a full canvas editor where you can drag, resize, and rewrite any element, and you can keep refining slides conversationally with chat-based editing. Upload an existing PPTX and Presenton converts it into a reusable design system, preserving brand colors, fonts, and layout rules for future decks. It supports bring-your-own-key setups with OpenAI-compatible providers, Amazon Bedrock, and local models via Ollama. The project has more than 11,200 GitHub stars, is actively developed with updates in October 2026, and is Apache-2.0 licensed.
The open-source version is free to self-host under Apache-2.0. Presenton Cloud plans are credit-based (one credit per generated slide), and enterprise deployments are priced on contact.
Teams, consultants, and developers who generate presentations frequently and want AI speed without giving up brand control or editable output.
