OpenCreator is an open-source AI workspace for content creators, formerly known as KrillinAI. It brings video translation and dubbing, image and video generation, voiceovers, and editing into one local-first desktop app, orchestrated by AI agents and reusable Skills rather than a pile of disconnected web tools. The project has earned more than 13,000 stars on GitHub and is updated continuously, with activity through late 2026.
OpenCreator started as a video translation and dubbing tool and grew into a full creative studio. Its flagship workflow takes a video, transcribes it, translates the subtitles, generates target-language dubbing matched to the original pacing, and renders a finished version with bilingual subtitles, aimed at creators republishing content across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram in new languages. Around that core it now offers more than a hundred creation templates for images, videos, covers, scripts, and social posts, plus a library of agent Skills, reusable workflow files that teach the built-in agent, powered by Codex, how to run multi-step jobs the same way every time. Everything is local-first: projects, files, and history stay on your machine, and you plug in your own model services for text, image, video, voice, and transcription, mixing providers such as OpenAI-compatible APIs, DeepSeek, Qwen, and local Whisper. Desktop installers cover macOS and Windows.
OpenCreator is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license, including the desktop app. You only pay for any third-party model APIs you choose to configure; several supported speech services even work without an API key.
OpenCreator is aimed at solo creators and small teams producing multilingual or high-volume social content, especially creators localizing videos for new audiences. If you want an agent-run creative studio that lives on your own computer instead of in a subscription, it is a compelling option.
