AI Job Search is an open-source job application framework with 61,000+ stars on GitHub that runs entirely on your own machine and turns Claude Code into a full-stack job application assistant.
Built by a geophysicist who used it to run his own job search — 69 tailored applications, 20 first interviews and one signed contract later, he released the framework publicly. You fork the repository, fill in your profile once, and then a structured workflow takes over: it scrapes job portals, evaluates each posting against your profile with structured fit criteria, and runs a drafter–reviewer pipeline in which one agent drafts a tailored LaTeX CV and cover letter and a second agent critiques and revises them. Postings pass a deterministic integrity gate before evaluation, and the core workflow is language- and country-agnostic — the bundled portal skills target Danish job boards such as Jobindex and Jobnet, but the pattern is designed to be swapped for your local boards.
The framework itself is free and open source under the MIT license. It runs on Claude Code, which has no free tier, so you will need a Claude Pro, Max or Team subscription, or Anthropic API credits — usually the only cost of using it.
Job seekers — especially technical professionals — who send many applications and want each one genuinely tailored, scored and tracked, while keeping their personal career data on their own computer.
