SwitchBot retrofits the dumb devices you already own: a tiny robot finger that presses buttons, plus curtain robots, blind tilts and smart locks that need no rewiring.
SwitchBot’s clever idea is mechanical, not electronic: the SwitchBot Bot physically pushes rocker switches and buttons, instantly making legacy appliances, coffee makers and light switches app-controlled. Around it, SwitchBot has built a full ecosystem β curtain robots that motorize existing curtain rails, a Blind Tilt for venetian blinds, retrofit smart locks, sensors, plugs and the Hub 2, which bridges everything to Wi-Fi and acts as a Matter hub with temperature and humidity sensing.
SwitchBot is a favorite of the Home Assistant community thanks to Bluetooth and Matter support that keep control local and fast. The company iterates quickly, too: the same app now covers a roller shade robot, a humidifier, an air purifier and a floor-cleaning robot alongside the original button pusher.
SwitchBot devices are one-time purchases with no subscription. Individual gadgets run from about $15 to $120: the Bot is $39, the Hub 2 is $59.99, Curtain 3 is about $89.99 per unit and Lock Pro around $119.99. App control and automations are free.
Renters and retrofit fans who want smart control of existing switches, curtains and blinds without replacing hardware or touching any wiring. A Hub 2 is the key first purchase, since it unlocks remote control and Matter for the rest of the range.
