Yuanfudao is a Chinese education technology company whose AI products — including its Xiaoyuan Souti solver and adaptive learning apps — serve millions of students.
Yuanfudao built its reputation on AI-powered homework help and has evolved into a broad learning-technology company. Its photo-search solver instantly explains problems across subjects, and its adaptive learning platforms use models to personalize practice paths for K-12 students. The company’s language products apply speech recognition to language practice, and its hardware learning devices package tutoring into focused form factors. Underpinning these products is sustained investment in education-specific AI: question understanding, step-level evaluation, and knowledge tracing that models what each student has mastered. For Chinese families, Yuanfudao’s tools provide immediate academic help and structured practice at a scale that human tutoring cannot match at comparable cost. The company’s knowledge-tracing models maintain an evolving picture of each learner’s mastery, sequencing practice to shore up weak foundations before advancing — the digital analogue of an attentive tutor’s judgment. The company’s products span immediate homework assistance through long-term adaptive courses, letting families choose the depth of support that matches both their budget and how systematically their child needs practice to be genuinely effective.
Core search and explanation tools are free. Premium learning plans, tutoring courses, and hardware devices are sold separately, with family subscriptions and periodic promotional pricing.
Chinese students needing immediate homework help and adaptive practice, and parents who want affordable, structured academic support beyond what school hours provide. It fits households that value immediate feedback loops in practice rather than scheduled sessions with a human tutor.
